The reserve toilet goes down the drain

Further to yesterdays post about the his n´ hers toilet idea, we decided that drilling a hole in the hull might cause a small problem or two.

So just to clear up any confusion, we decided to use the hole for the water extraction pump instead, which is what it’s there for anyway. I thought it might be a good idea to let you know that we knew that all along, even if we are both potty.

Moving swiftly on, this is the brill job Dave accomplished yesterday when he’d got all the grout off the walls. They still need sanding down but that can wait a bit. Oh, and the shadow in this photo is moi, (the expert photographer) spoiling the whole effect…

As for today, well we’re not moving on at all right now because the first real problem has occurred. We knew it wouldn’t take long for something to crop up and here it is. Till now this lot was all boxed in by the wall that’s gone to the tip. Dave went to the DIY store this morning and came back with loads of pieces of wood, the idea being to box it in with a door on the front…

So he came back all ready to set sail, (not literally of course – we’re surrounded by ice again). But when he checked out the vipers nest of pipes shown here, it soon became apparent that they weren’t going to go where they were supposed to.

There was more to it than that. But don’t ask me what, because by the time he gets to explaining the why’s and wherefores of a plumbing rescue plan, my ears shut down.

He’s just gone out to get more pipes, connectors and thingy’s,, one step forward two steps back.
Oh, and it’s just started snowing AGAIN too…
