We have blast off

I could say it’s so nice to get away from that building site of a bedroom for a while, but oops it has to come with us. Never mind, it’s been sealed off and is working well as a great place to just throw stuff, ha ha. (Curtains closed).

We set off from the mooring around noon, what a gorgeous day…

002

Headed towards the marina entrance (or exit in this case) at last...

005

Proof…!

007

008

Mrs swan sat on her nest just by the entrance, I mean exit…

010

Ah, out at last…

016

The skeleton ghost of the missing bridge was nowhere in sight as we smoothly, carefully, glided past…

022

The trees almost form an arch here, it’s beautiful…

026

The view from where I’m sat now, we’re moored up, staying here overnight then moving on a bit further tomorrow…

028

Don’t we look high up? The canal is higher than the fields here, strange but true…

030

So while Dave’s sat on the back fishing, I’m sat out here behind him tapping away at the keyboard. Can’t believe I’ve got 3G out here in the middle of nowhere!

Oh yuk, he’s been sat patiently for about an hour now, hasn’t caught any fish yet, but just got this MASSIVE eel by mistake…

042

Ah well I must be off, we’ve got a BBQ to start and a glass of wine or three on the menu. Straight after a photo of an eel that doesn’t sound too good does it? {CRINGE} No the eel isn’t on the menu, it’s back where it belongs.

The sun’s still shining, there’s no wind, the birds are singing, and there’s greenery all around us, aye it’s a hard life…
