Views along the way

As we turned out of the marina we discovered the local swan family having a shower in the run off by lock 7…

I have to say I’m impressed with the good job BW (or contractors) have done on the Rufford Branch towpath. This section was very neglected and almost impossible to walk through a while back. There were reeds as tall as me on either side, and because it was so neglected it would’ve been impossible for a boat to moor up there. What a difference, it means the towpath looks this good all the way from the marina to the Leeds Liverpool.

After mooring up, we sat on the back of the boat waiting for our towpath pizza delivery to arrive. It’s called a “BW special,” you put in a bid for it and if someone further down the towpath bids higher then they get the goodies. Needless to say we went without, so we made some egg butties instead...
